Binns Organ Restoration Project

Since 1901 our historic Grade II* Binns organ has served our local community. Now in need of urgent repair, we need your help to continue this legacy.

Our organ restoration project will restore the historic organ, bring together and benefit local people of all ages through music making and heritage and enable us to continue helping future generations through the power of music.

We have received initial support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (‘Heritage Fund’) to develop the project and apply for a grant of c.£460,000 in summer 2025. To qualify, we need to raise £106,000 partnership funding.

Before we can reach our first milestone of 30% and apply to identified trusts and foundations, we need to raise £10,800.

Every £1 given or pledged will be matched by a further £5.40 if our Heritage Fund bid is successful. UK taxpayers can make their donations tax-efficiently – increasing the value of their gift, with regular or one-off donations.

Can you help us with a donation at this crucial time?

All are invited to give generously – no-one is asked to give more than they can afford – every gift is valued.

The Bible tells the story of a people who played musical instruments of all kinds to praise God and declare his greatness.
