The grace of God in the gospel - Romans 3:21 - 8:39
"But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (5:20-21)
The seemingly hopeless diagnosis of our sinful condition (1:18-3:20) is now transformed because God has intervened. God's grace is victorious over human sin. Jesus Christ took the wrath and judgement and that should have been ours upon himself when he died on the cross; we can be set free through faith in what Christ has done!
